Omaer Naeem (he/him) is a junior at Washington University in St. Louis studying international affairs, Asian American Studies, and Urdu. He is originally from rural Appalachia in Western Maryland. Omaer has previous working experience with The Brookings Institute, Department of State, and ACLU-MO. On campus, Omaer serves as the vice-president of administration of Sigma Iota Rho (global studies honorary), an interfaith fellow, and a poetry writer for COLOUR Magazine. Omaer is passionate about South Asian history & heritage, sustainability, and linguistic-cultural exchange. In his free time, Omaer enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring coffee shops.
