Jenna Shalash was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, but her family originally hails from Palestine and Nicaragua. She is a junior at Transylvania University and is a Political Science major with a Writing, Rhetoric, and Communications minor. At Transylvania, Jenna works as an Admissions Ambassador, while also serving her peers as the President of the Muslim Student Association, Vice President of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and Vice President of It’s On Us. After graduation, she plans to attend law school to become a prosecutor and eventually have a seat at the bench like her mentor, Judge Denotra Gunther. Jenna believes her passion for justice, and support for underrepresented communities, will be used to generate substantial change, and is grateful for the opportunity to represent her home state of Kentucky at the 2023 College Student Congress.
