CBS NEWS ROBERT COSTA CHALLENGES STUDENT CONGRESS

Robert Costa, CBS Chief Election and Campaign Correspondent, took this year’s Henry Clay College Student Congress to a live Presidential campaign announcement today.

Costa was scheduled to meet in person with the students while they were completing their Student Congress Program in Washington, DC. When Gov. Ron DeSantis decided to announce in Florida his candidacy for President and entrance into the primaries, Costa rushed to cover the early morning event.

Instead of canceling the session with the students, Costs set up a zoom with them from the hotel where the announcement was soon to be made.  The students heard Costa’s challenge to be double sure of the truth before committing to any person or initiative.

After a lengthy Q&A period with the students, the Di Santis announcement began and Costa moved into the press gallery.
