Jake Powell is a junior attending Lander University’s Honors College in Greenwood, S.C. He is a Political Science major with an emphasis in Public Administration and a Homeland Security minor. At Lander, he has served as the president of the Political Science Association, Student Government Association student body vice president, a Presidential Ambassador, and the president and founder of the student chapter of ICMA (International City/County Management Association) on campus. Recently, Jake spent the Spring 2020 semester in Washington, D.C. studying within the South Carolina Washington Semester Program. In this program, he worked as a congressional intern within The Office of U.S. Senator Tim Scott. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. Jake is very proud to represent the Palmetto State in the 2020 College Student Congress.
