Isaiah Pielak is a junior studying political science, ethics and public policy, and psychology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. On campus, Isaiah is the founder and president of a Model United Nations team and participates in mental health advocacy organizations. Isaiah has worked on several political campaigns, recently serving as an Organizing Fellow for the Johnson County Democrats ahead of the 2022 midterms. Isaiah is also heavily engaged in research, co-authoring a paper analyzing power distributions for 2020 census data underneath the electoral college. Isaiah plans to pursue graduate degrees in law and social work, equipping him to expand mental health care access through public policy.
