James Van Drie is a senior at Wheaton College, IL, studying Political Science with a minor in Urban Studies. He founded a nonprofit at the age of eighteen in order to fight homelessness and has taught hundreds of volunteers how to effectively affect change in their communities. He has personally raised over $20,000 for the mission. James is currently a cadet in Army ROTC and will be commissioning as a second lieutenant upon graduation. He is also wrapping up his ninth season doing track and field, competing in the discus. In the fall, James will be heading off to law school, with the goal of serving as a JAG officer and eventually running for public office. He enjoys board games and leatherworking and does most of his work on the desk he built for himself during the pandemic.
