Kasey Casort is a Junior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she is pursuing a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Climate Resilience and Adaptation. Kasey is a lifelong Alaskan, and she lives with the impacts of climate change every day. This is why she is invested in equitable climate and energy policy, although her personal passion is advocating for healthcare access. Kasey has interned with U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski and Alaska State Rep. Ivy Spohnholz. She gained electoral and community organizing experience while working for Planned Parenthood Votes and the Alaska AFL-CIO leading up to the 2018 Midterm Election. Most recently, she worked for a local research and management consulting firm, providing federal grant application assistance to commercial fishers in Bristol Bay. She is looking forward to representing Alaska at the 2020 College Student Congress.
